Here are some great sites I have found to be helpful. If you think I should add
any to this list, please let me know.
www.freewayguides.com
This company creates fun, easy to listen to audio programs on a variety of subjects.
I wrote the Freeway Guide to Personal Finance . They have a whole host of subjects
from finding a job to going through a pregnancy. Check it out.
www.annualcreditreport.com
I want you to go here every single year for the rest of your life. On this site
you can get free copies of your credit reports (you have three) once a year.
You can also buy your credit score at a discount, around $7. I know there are
a gazillion places to get your credit score online and some of them claim to
be free but trust me, they’re not. Go to this site first and go here at
least once every year for the rest of your life. If you are married or in a
serious relationship, you should be together when you visit the site. Admittedly
this may reveal some nasty financial secrets and one of you may even have to
spend the night on the couch.
www.ikea.com
Before you go to annualcreditreport.com make sure you have a comfortable couch.
These folks can help.
www.fool.com
The Motley Fool is a terrific site filled with not only great personal finance
information but also great writers. I admire their policy of full disclosure
(when a writer is penning a piece about several stocks he or she must confess
which, if any, of those stocks they themselves own.) Check it out.
www.irs.gov
Surprisingly the IRS has a user friendly website. If you are stuck during tax
time you can go here to find your answers. If you’re really stuck email
me .
